Little Pamona

A small family run cidery in Thornbury, North Herefordshire that specialise in high end sparkling ciders. I have to confess I struggle a bit with their barrelled ciders and I must get some of their bottled ciders to give them a fair go.

Golden yellow, Clear and flat Lots of floral pears on the nose Smack. Huge amounts of Perry pear flavour with a slight floral acidity with a touch of leather in there as well. Quite full on a flavour leaving an ok pear aftertaste and slightly refreshing. Not to my taste I confess. A bit in your face. I’m not saying it’s bad at all and if you like a nice full flavour Perry, go for it.

Yellow, very cloudy flat Lots of phenol in the nose but fermented apple there as well Sour grapefruit taste that is strange but not bad. The sourness goes away quickly though to leave a fruity slightly tannic taste. Decent aftertaste. One for the connoisseur this one. I wouldn’t have too much and it’s certainly not a session cider.
